Why We Need Measure MM
The Argument In Favor of Measure MM on the Nov 3rd Ballot
EVERY child deserves to learn in safe, modern school facilities. Help make it true for ALL Inglewood children. VOTE YES on Measure MM for Inglewood USD schools.
IUSD schools need our help. Some schools have received upgrades thanks to generous past support from our community. Others, including many built in the 1920s and 30s, are in dire need of repairs and upgrades. Safe, modern school facilities help retain and attract the quality teachers our kids need. Measure MM authorizes a responsible plan to fix our schools. NO other funding exists to address these needs.
Passage of Measure MM will:
- Keep schools safe and prepared for emergencies
- Remove asbestos, lead paint, and mold
- Provide safe drinking water
- Equip classrooms with modern technology for 21st century learning
- Upgrade computer, engineering, and science labs
- Improve college/career preparation training facilities
- Repair leaky roofs, deteriorated plumbing, gas, electrical, and HVAC systems
Taxpayer Protections are REQUIRED:
- ALL funds benefit IUSD schools. The State CANNOT take this funding away.
- NO funds go to administrators' salaries.
- Citizens' Oversight, independent audits, and public reporting ensure transparency and accountability.
As facilities are improved, our Inglewood economy will get a needed boost.
VOTING YES supports equality for ALL students. Studies show that students and teachers perform better in safe, quality schools. Good schools also protect property values and keep our community strong. The longer we wait to make these improvements, the more expensive they will be.
VOTING YES improves IUSD job training classrooms in key fields such as nursing/medical careers, robotics, engineering and skilled trades, helping Inglewood students get access to good-paying jobs, careers and economic opportunity. Join parents, teachers, small business owners, civic and faith leaders, and residents across Inglewood voting YES. Remember: the need is great and OUR kids are worth it!
Please, VOTE YES on MM.
